We used one recently at an Airbnb and the knives were super sharp. Which is what convinced me to buy one. We have been using this for awhile now with our Hinckel knives and it hasn't improved the sharpness much. I would hazard a guess that after awhile the used ones lose some of their sharpening ability. Might be good to ask age of block when purchasing.
