Interesting that the silver clip was made by LC Hardtmuth, who made pencils back then, and contributed a pencil to a Waterman set I have: a straight cap (502) gold chased pen with a matching pencil, but the pencil was marked Hardtmuth as well as Waterman. At the time this pen was made, Waterman used "3" to denote a half size, so the 32 is half the size of a #2 straight cap.
