On removing the black plastic to inspect the board, there was some mod wire and the cover of the possibly replaced network isolator came off? But that could be taped back on. On removal of the back plastic, a large capacitor came off - as it seems it had been desoldered due to heating and an impact and only held in place with the back plastic - I had to solder it back on. But in the end, the board seems to work.
