The deck was described as fully functional, while TYPE II selector was not working, due to abuse or overuse. So, the deck is not working with TYPE II tapes, which is the most used type of tape. Initially I thought that the problem might have not been observed by the seller, but his reaction to my complaint made me suspect that was not the case. So, very disappointed, as I would have not purchased it, had I known the reality.
