Thin-walled cardboard box and not enough bubble wrap let this fairly dense object tumble around inside and partially break out of the box, which was barely box shaped anymore. Some minor scuffs on the cast portions but still tested fine under load. Heavy stuff needs a more extensive tape wrap or denser padding material in the future.
