I was able to remedy the problem only because I have welding skills! I had to weld extensions onto the rear mounts and swap sides. The rear of the running board is now firm, rather than being spongy. The sales photo shows the reat bracket much farther back than it actually was untill I welded the extension on. Buy with caution!!
