It was not a surprise, and I didn't feel a need to keep the box, but just something to know if you are a box keeper. The dip nib in this set is just amazing, no other dip nib I have even comes close. The Smarttouch gel ballpoint is really good, too, and the roller ball works with fountain pen ink cartridges which is outstanding!
