Entire torso (upper and lower) are more like the material used for hard goods on figures but softer (latex-like). Which makes for great shape and smoothness, but unsure how well it will take and hold acrylic paints & will have to experiment. Shipping was a lenghty wait & no updates at all once it was in the U.S.
