The top of the dome punched a hole in the box for the cake stand and dome. The shipping box was barely larger than the cake stand box and was only protected by some USPS 1/4 inch thick foam padding between the shipping box and the cake stand box. This was not enough protection. Seller immediately offered return. We kept it. I'm not sure why anybody would keep a broken glass cake stand. My opinion is she thought I would give refund by making a false complaint getting the item free.
