My config came as primary PCIe cage routed to the front NVMe U.2 slots, secondary in an x8, x16, x8 cage, and no tertiary. Note the middle front ports are SATA - not SAS - when plugged into the motherboard directly. You'll need a mezzanine card or PCIe HBA to use them as SAS. I'd also recommend you update the firmware on everying with the SPP.
