The 4 cutters are on a separate piece of carbide that is welded to the stem of the bit. They are not integrated into the stem like the 2 cutter bits. In my case, the 4 cutters detached from the stem leaving a stem with a completely flat surface that is useless for drilling. I finished drilling the last 20 holes using a Milwaukee 5/8" 2 cutter bit. No problems with it.
