Discovered that one of the batteries had leaked on top and corrosion had set in on the top part of the latch. Fortunately, I was able to clean it up with vinegar/baking soda solution. 2. The manual zoom rocker switch was sticking intermittently which a little oil helped but not totally. I guess the camera sat on the shelf too long.
