They are some of the softest gloves that I have ever owned, and they protect your hands and your sparring partner because they are so padded and soft. They seem to be well built and would last long for sparring, but I wouldn't want to use these on a heavy bag because they are too soft and probably screw them up. The only cons are that the finger compartment is a little cramped and narrow, but probably break in.
