This is the wrong part. I have a 1971 Mazda 1500 with a UB motor. the hose connection come straight out over the thermostat.

Sorry to hear you've had trouble with this, but this is the first we are hearing of it? We are always happy to help resolve these kind of problems, but can only do so if we are informed of the issue. The picture on the listing quite clearly shows the orientation of the outlet on this unit, and we have sold many of these for the UB over the years without a problem.
