Ultimately, installation confirmed that they were bent and had to be re-shaped for proper fitment. The area where the muffler seated against the leading exhaust pipe had what appeared to be weld splatter that had to be ground off with a Dremel. Those problems corrected, it appears to be just what I wanted.
