Two-time Live Ireland "Best Female Vocalist" Norah Rendell, fiddler Nathan Gourley and internationally acclaimed guitarist Brian Miller are the Two Tap Trio. The Two Tap Trio mixes driving fiddle and flute duets with Norah's acclaimed voice, underpinned by intricate guitar and bouzouki backing. They have performed at festivals and concert halls throughout the Midwest including the Milwaukee Irish Fest, Thunder Bay's Canadian Celtic Celebration, NESD Celtic Faire and Irish Fair Minnesota. Norah Rendell Rock and Reel Magazine callsNorah Rendell "a fabulous lead vocalist". In 2008, she was nominated for Traditional Singer of the Year at the Canadian Folk Music Awards and, in 2011, she was named the "Young Tradition-Bearer" of the year at the Goderich Celtic Roots Festival. She was Live Ireland's 'Best Female Vocalist' in both 2011 and 2012. Norah is also a master flute and whistle player and founding member of the internationally acclaimed band The Outside Track. She hails from Vancouver, BC and has performed throughout western Canada, the US and Europe. She was a two-time recipient of the prestigious Canada Council for Performing Arts grant which she used to study traditional flute and singing in Ireland; earning a masters in Irish traditional music from the Irish World Academy of Music and Dance. Brian Miller "The backing of [Brian] Miller on guitar flexes not just muscle but a fully complementary style" writes esteemed Irish music critic Earle Hitchner. Also an accomplished singer, his trademark guitar accompaniment is the backbone of nationally touring Irish music group Bua, a band comprised of some of the finest young Irish musicians in the US. A native Minnesotan, Brian has received several grants for his work reviving the Irish-influenced music of northwoods lumberjack fiddlers and singers. He has performed throughout the US and in Canada and Ireland. In Ireland he has been featured on TG4, RTE television and RTE radio. The Irish Times calls his guitar accompaniment "superb". Nathan Gourley Nathan Gourley is The Two Tap Trio's youngest member. Originally from Madison, Wisconsin, Nathan is now based in Boston after years in the Twin Cities, Nathan has put his passion for Irish music into practice as a member of The Máirtín de Cógáin Project, The Doon Ceili Band, and Dunquin. Nathan's improvisational fiddling embodies diverse fiddle styles that he was exposed to as a child in his musical family and at folk and fiddle festivals across the country. His high energy fiddle playing brings both sweetness and drive to the Two Tap Trio's sound.
