Product Information

Bronze metal clay is the natural next choice for the large silver metal clay market; it's far less expensive, so crafters can expand their creativity creating larger-scale pieces. As a member of the Technical Support Team for Rio Grande (a huge online distributor of jewelry supplies), Yvonne Padilla is an expert at answering crafters' questions about bronze. In addition to providing step-by-step instructions for 30 projects, she explains how bronze differs from silver clay, how to work with it, and how to attain the lovely verdigris patina that only bronze has. An inspirational gallery and a trouble shooting section complete the fantastic package.

Reviews
"When silver metal clay appeared on the scene 15 years ago, it took lots of trial and error for artists to learn to make the most of the material's properties. With the recent introductions of bronze metal clays, jewelry makers are once again on a learning curve. Luckily one of the first artists to work with bronze clay, Yvonne M. Padilla, has written a book that flattens the curve. Padilla answers common questions in plain language. She gives generous tips and insights. There are 35 projects to spark your imagination. Earrings, pendants, beads, charms -- they're all here. So are nonjewelry projects that leverage the economical aspects of bronze clay." --Art Jewelry "This is a great introduction to a fun new material. Accomplished metal clay artist, jeweler, and teacher Yvonne M. Padilla was among the first artists to work with bronze metal clay. In her new book, she provides basic information about this new material and contrasts it with silver clay, explaining the differences in technique and the behavior of the materials. She also walks readers through helpful troubleshooting for pieces that have gone awry. The 35 projects that are included provide a little something for everyone." --Bead & Button "Bronze is the newest addition to the craft of metal clay, joining more expensive gold and silver as a medium for jewelers. Padilla, one of the first artists to work with bronze clay, uses it to good effect for antique-looking jewelry projects. Photos of pieces by other artists give additional ideas. Crafters with metal clay experience will be able to use this book after a little practice with the bronze alloy." --Library Journal, "With the recent introductions of bronze metal clays, jewelry makers are once again on a learning curve. Item is far from the condition listed. It also came from Thriftbooks, which had I known, I would not have placed the order. Thank you for wasting my time and money, the book is in the trash!

eBay won't allow feedback unless I rate the item. The item is fine. Seller sold it to me, but then contacted me worried that the third party from whom the seller got the CD didn't actually have it or ship it. The seller refunded the money, but, as predicted, the CD never arrived. The seller seemed honest, but it seems to be a poor practice to sell items that one does not have in hand. I ended up buying the same CD from another seller, but I paid more money to get it.
