Released in 2008, this the third installment of the highly successful Super Smash Bros franchise. It is the first of the series to become available to play on the Nintendo Wii console. Gamers can choose to play as their favorite Nintendo characters, including Donkey Kong, Pikachu, Mega Man, Zelda, Mario, and 30 other classic characters. This game, which is mainly comprised of two-dimensional fighting action, allows you to play with up to three other players or go on a solo adventure. This makes it great for both group- and single-play entertainment. Super Smash Bros is most famous for its classic fighting mode that allows up to four characters to battle each other. The goal in fighting mode is to knock opponents off of the screen. Each character has four unique moves that they can use to defeat the others. All characters can also use projectiles and melee weapons. When game milestones are hit, players can summon assist trophies and poke balls to help them. Players can also practice their moves against the computer to build skill they can then use to defeat other players and characters. Super Smash Bros Brawl contains a unique solo story mode called the Subspace Emissary. The side-scrolling gameplay in this mode is similar to that of the Mario Bros games for the original Nintendo. Cut-scenes are interspersed between levels to explain the plot. In Brawl, the objective is to battle the Ancient Minister and his evil minions, the Primid, to prevent the bad guys from invading Subspace. The game features different storylines that vary depending on the character you play. This Nintendo video game also has a stadium mode that offers mini games that include Home Run Contest and Boss Battles. This Wii game includes a diverse cast of 35 playable characters, many of whom will be instantly familiar to Nintendo fans. Some of the characters from the Mario franchise are featured in this game, including Luigi, Princess Peach, and Yoshi. New characters for this Nintendo installment include Diddy Kong, Sonic the Hedgehog, and Solid Snake from Metal Gear Solid. The fights take place on 41 different stages, 10 of which were featured in Super Smash Bros Melee. Stages include the Mushroomy Kingdom, Sky world, Yoshi's Island, Rumble Falls, and more. Players can also create their own customized stages. This exciting, interactive Nintendo game features intuitive controls that make it even easier to brawl your way to the top. It is compatible with four different types of Wii controllers: Wii Remote, Wii Remote with Nunchuks, the GameCube controller, and the Classic Controller. It also allows gamers to connect with other Smash Bros Fans over the Wii's Wi-Fi connection in order to battle. Upon its release, Super Smash Bros Brawl for the Wii quickly became a hit. Brawl has garnered many fans who love its intense gameplay and fun story. It has an ESRB rating of T for Teen.
